I just saw this on the news
There is a website called Spokeo that will show all your info. Address, age, everything. You can remove this info.
1)Search for your name
2)if it shows click on it
3)copy the URL address
4)on the bottom of the page there is a privacy tab- click on it and put the URL address in it along with your e-mail
5)hit ok
6) you will get an e-mail to confim it
It will be off that site.

Yes, this has been around for months. I spent some time taking myself and my parents off of there.
ETA: I just checked, and even though I took myself off ages ago, all my info is back!

and what's really annoying is that they limit the number of privacy requests per email address, so I have to use alternative addresses or make new ones up just for this.

YES! Because both of my listings under my maiden name were still there (one with my mom's address and one with my college address) and it wouldn't let me remove the second one with the same email address. 
ETA OR a different email address entirely! Argh!

REALLY??? On the news they made it sound like if you take it off it will stay off.

Its true that your info is on there but trying to take it off, not so easy. They also have been said to collect email addresses, so putting your info on there might be more trouble than its worth...

its has anything you have ever made public... all it is is an aggregator... it crawls all the social media sites, phone books, house listing etc....
so its really NOTHING that you have not published yourself... its just in one place...

i would be very surprised if it had your EXACT salary... it prob has an estimate based upon your position and zip code where you live etc... same goes for home values...

What I'm wondering is - how do they have my mom's name? I've never ever put that on anything. And I never post my address anywhere and our phone listing was always private. So I'm just wondering, where else would they get this info?
Also, my household income is way off. I WISH we made that much money.

It's not household income it's house/property value I think..
I just deleted but now I'm worried because I gave my email.. They had me under my maiden name and with my parents house. I don't like this one bit! How is this allowed?
