Anybody else resolve to de-clutter the house this year?
I've been on a rampage trying to get organized and get rid of stuff. I just picked out 28 pairs of shoes from my closet to donate.

I started just before Christmas. FEELS SO GOOD!!!!
I normally hate throwing out anything that is in perfectly good condition. I ended up getting rid of about 2/3 of the contents of my HUGE extra closet - but I gave them to a friend of mine and her family who is in need, so it was VERY easy for me to do.
If it was going in the trash, I honestly wouldn't have done it. And if I would have had to take it somewhere to donate, I honestly don't think I would have done it at this time either - just TOO busy and no time. So this worked out perfectly.
Also decluttered the contents of our living room side table drawers, closed bookcase, and storage ottoman.
Still have way more to do, but it's a great start and allowed us to finally store all the baby items (i.e. huge things that took up all of our usable space!) in that closet.

I agree - it feels so good! That's great that you were able to help out your friend.
Just as an FYI, a lot of places will pick up donated items at your house. I have Big Brothers/Big Sisters coming this week to pick up my stuff. I just leave it right outside the door and they come and take it and leave a receipt.

No resolutions for me. But this is my mission for 2011. I HAVE TO declutter my entire house (garage included) and create closets in 2 of my bedrooms.

i have decided to be more organized, in general... but it's going to have to wait another day. SO's kids leave tomorrow. once they are gone, i'll start with my bedroom and work my way around the house

ME!!! I have emptied all the junk drawers and organized DD's closet. Working on her playroom right now. My closet is next.

We moved in Sept, so we got rid of most of our clutter. However, my resolution is to organize better. We started out okay but my linen/cleaning closet is scary right now.

It's my goal for the year. I really don't plan on being done anytime soon, but hopefully by fall/early winter.

I did that when I moved to my new apartment a month ago
fresh start - very little clutter- got rid of tons of clothes, old papers- it felt so good!
