What products are you using?

My hair is very curly and i usually wear it straight. I just blow it out and flat iron it. However i do wear it curly at least 1-2 times a week. Anyway ever since I had my DS the products i use to use, just make my curls look like crap.

Re: girls w/ curly hair

I use a spray-in leave-in conditioner (by Pantene) to help comb my hair. Then I comb thru some volumizing mousse from Nexxus (I've also used one by Redken which was good too), and then either let my hair air dry or blow dry it with a diffuser on high heat setting but low speed. After it is dry, I finger-brush for a second my curls to get rid of any stiffness and then put in some Fekkai glossing cream.

Re: girls w/ curly hair

I use the Aussie line (purple bottles). I generally use the springing curls hairspray, the springing curls mousse, and then for gel I use an orange bottle but I cant remember the brand. I'll look for it

Re: girls w/ curly hair

I just bought Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Instant Melting Hair Conditioner.... it makes my hair so much smoother than regular conditioner... and its thick so you dont loose half of the stuff out of your hand before it gets to your head...

I also use this shampoo and conditioner... its thick also and the conditioner is also great

External Image

ETA: i just use regular gel or hair spray as far as after products go... whatever is on sale

Re: girls w/ curly hair

The only thing that consistently makes my curls look good is Herbal Essences Totally Twisted gel. In the summer sometimes when I have more frizz to deal with, I also use Chi Silk infusion.

Sebastian Potion 9 and Marc Anthony Strictly curls curl cream. I love Aveda curl enchancer too. But the Marc Anthony is a third of the cost.

I have alot of products I use. I also get a straightner put in every 3-6 months to make it less frizzy and looser curls.

I wash my hair only every 2-3 days. I know it sounds gross but with my type of dry curly hair that is what you have to do. I also do not blow dry it but let it dry naturally.

I use:
Panetene curly hair shampoo & conditioner (wash out)
Nexxus Liquid Gel
Leave in Nexus Humectress Conditioner
Frizz ease Mousse

The days I do not wash it I spray it with water and add the Nexxus humectress and gel.

I love it. I love it even more now that Target carries it. Before I had to either order it online or go into the city to buy it @ Ricky's.

Re: girls w/ curly hair

For years I used to use Nexxus Liquid Gel by the case - seriously - by the case, but hated the flakes it left.

Later I found Aveda Flax Seed Gel & said goodbye to the flakes. The salon I buy it from gets me the bar back size so I don't buy out her stock. Chat Icon

I've tried all kinds of cuts & styling tricks.
For MY curly hair I really like the DevaCut - I get it done at LaCole Salon & Spa.
BUT I HATE Deva products & styling "tricks".
I still prefer & LOVE Ouidad's - section, rake & shake. I get perfect ringlets every time.

Re: girls w/ curly hair

I use Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment and I just started using this new mousse, unfortunately the name is escaping me. I'll edit later when I go home.

I LOVE the oil. I use it whether I'm leaving my hair curly or blowing it out straight.
