Fireplaces, Wood burning stoves, Pellet stoves, etc

do you have any of these on your "want" list when looking for a home? or own a house and wish you had one?

I currently have a free standing fireplaces and a wood burning stove in my house. To keep a long story short we may need to take them out. Assuming we do, I'm trying to decide what to do since we are selling the house (no buyer yet - actually pulling it off the market until I get my CO's done.)

Option 1: remove them both, cap them and give the buyer a credit to replace with something they like. I've priced out the least expensive replacement and that will be what the credit is for.

Option 2: remove both and replace with something in MY budget and taste.

WE have these beautiful mantles and I feel like something should be there, BUT what if I invest all this money in buying and replacing and someone doesn't even want them and won't use them. BUT I feel lif I take them out, there are these 2 big empty spaces. Just know they are not fireplace mantles, they are stone/brick mantles to put a free standing unit on - so a wood stove or pellet stove.

I'm so torn!!!

I think you should definitely leave them and let the buyer do whatever he/she wants.

For us, when we bought our home, the woodburning stove was acutally a deal breaker. The sellers wanted to take it out b/c it was pratically brand new, and we wanted to keep it, so we actually paid the seller extra on the side to keep it. (obviously not full value, but partial since it was new).
