am the only crazy one not looking foward to maternity leave ... vent
I have to go back to work after the baby is born its something i have accepeted it and in the long run dont mind. Now dont get my wrong I am looking foward to time off with my baby but I am so stressed about being out for that long! I have very little confidence in the person taking over my duties and i know i am going to have so much to do and fix when i get back that i dont want to take any time off at all becuase of it. I elected to only take 6 weeks off because of this and work 6 weeks from home.
I have no doubt that i will be checking work stuff during my time off at some point just so i dont have a full 6 weeks to go thru; esp. since has i am typing this the person who should be fully trained to do my job is still asking me questions we have went over and should know

I understand this. When I did work in an office, I even hated to leave for my honeymoon because the person covering me was such a dolt, I knew I'd have MORE work when I got back. However, I think you'll have your hands so full you won't have any time to worry about what's going on at the office!

My maternity leave will fall right before the NYS ELA test. I'm not happy that my kids will not have my to prep with, but what can you do? I'm going to enjoy the time with and not think about work for a second!

I am totally with you - so much so that I am afraid to tell my boss I am pregnant, and I am almost 17 weeks! I planned on telling him yesterday, but just couldn't do it, and he is out today. I know he will be annoyed that I will be out for three months!
I just hope that when I see the baby I forget about work and enjoy my time off.

Re: am the only crazy one not looking foward to maternity leave ... vent
i stress a little thinking about it b/c i want to take extra time off, and the way it looks and when i'm due, I'm going to be going back during the busiest time of the year. which means transition back to work will either suck really bad or i'll be so busy I won't have as much time to dwell on not being home with the baby.

I can relate...when I was out with DD the person covering for me was a total idiot. She made a lot of mistakes and cost the company a lot of money. When i came back they ended up giving me a promotion I think me being out they realized just how much crappy work I actually do.

I can relate - but I just came back after 6 months and cleaned it up and moved forward - there was no way in hell I was going to waste my time on leave stressing over what was or was not going on @ work -
So, this time again - I'll just come back and clean up and move forward -

Re: am the only crazy one not looking foward to maternity leave ... vent
i totally understand...they longest i've been away from the office was my honeymoon and the summer is our slowest time of year. i'm trying not to stress and agree that once the baby is here it wont matter as much, but know it will be very hard to catch up upon my return. things atr my company change daily so after the maternity leave i'll be totally lost!
