the stomach virus has hit my house:-(

yesterday my 6m DD was throwing up all day...she finally stopped around 5 pm. And now DH is throwing up. Im prob next and its Christmas I am supposed to host Sat. DO you think we will only have it for half of a day like DD?? Wishful thinking right

oh jeez...i dont know...DH came home sick from work today...he hardly ate all day...didn't actually throw up , but was nauseous and achy...his friend had it the day before and it was gone in 24 hrs....i'm really hoping dd and i dont get sick, because just like you said the timing is terrible!!

You may only have it for 24 hours but you are still contagious for days....You can still give it to someone else...I know it sucks...

I HATE to say this...but this stomach bug is awful. Even if you are only physically sick for a day, it makes you feel awful for several days after. We JUST got over it..i was sick...ryan got it 2 days after me...DH one day after him..then finally Johnny. We all felt really bad for 2 days, the gradually better..but it was a solid week till we were "normal".

I wouldn't be hosting anything, even if you feel ok by then, i wouldn't chance everyone else getting it. 3 years ago we all had it and saw family 3 days after it hit us (thinking we weren't contagious). My entire extended family got it (with the exception of maybe 2 people)..not good.

I'm sorry its hitting you now...please feel better!!!

I wouldn't host. DD caught stomach virus while we were in Disney. Myself, SIL, MIL, FIL, and SIL's boyfriend ALL came down with it 48 hours later. My parents flew down and were exposed to it 48 hours after DD started and about 3 hours before we started. 48 hours later my mom started with it. It's very contagious and some lasted longer than others.

I'm sure if you start tonight, you will be fine by Christmas. But I wouldn't have people over. Maybe you'll be lucky and escape it. DH escaped ours. And he was covered in DD's puke more times than I can count.

I wouldn't host either. DS gave us a stomach bug earlier this year and it took a few days to feel back to normal (even though we didn't get sick for more than a night).

Just saw this and have to say the bug hit DD this morning I think we are going to be down and out for Christmas this year It hasn't hit the rest of us yet but how can it not? And I am pg and feel conflicted if I should care for DD or keep away and let everyone else take care of her.

I would cancel Christmas. Your guests will thank you for it. It is bad and yes you will eventually get it to. Sanitize every inch of your house and wash your hands often enough until they bleed!!!! Good luck to you.
