Re: For Those who Cruise: Onboard Incidental Bills were how much...?
I've never done a 4-nighter, only 7 nights...usually the bill for the 2 of us including everything - drinks, tips, excursions, massages, pictures, wine, onboard shopping, etc, is in the $800-1000 range. It's been lower than that though. Bulk of it is spent on snorkeling excursions and a massage or two for me.

Re: For Those who Cruise: Onboard Incidental Bills were how much...?
It can vary greatly.... if you're a shopper, drinker, bingo player....
You can prepay excursions, tips, soda package and specialty restaurants before you board so it will make the onboard bill less and make you feel better
We only drink at night - and our last cruise we had very early excursions on 4 days. So we literally had 1 drink each. The only other charge on our bill was a nail clipper from the onboard shop since we forgot it from home. So we had 2 drinks and 1 nail clipper (Nail clipper was only 2 bucks, I was surprised...) We thought we'd have the lowest seapass bill ever until DH had to go down to medical - so that added on 290 bucks.
The cruise prior to that, we had late excursions so we would stay up later at the bars and drink more, our bill was probably around 800 bucks that time. That was 3 nights of drinking, but one of those nights we had a smuggled on bottle from a port so we were going at that bottle pretty good. Plus the last round of Bingo.
We gave up on the Bingo - too expensive. If you are going to goto Bingo - only goto the last session where they keep going until someone wins.
We dont buy tshirts, hats, jewlery, bottled liquor, because it doesnt ever seem to be such a great deal that it's worth carting it off the ship/onto the plane or I dont want a RC logo all over my clothes. We don't do anything at the spa, either. I'm relaxed enough on vacation.
ETA: For excursions, you can look online at your ports to see the prices. If you're trying to estimate, if you are going to book thru the ship I'd say allocate 75 bucks per person per excursion. Of course, it is cheaper to use a private company for your excursion, but that comes with it's own set of risks.
Good luck and let me know if you have more questions.

We are not drinkers - but I had a diet coke each night. I got a massage and we went on a few excursions. We prepaid for the excursions as many are popular and sell out before the cruise leaves port. We got a few small things in the gift shop, but over all we were not really surprised by our bill.

Re: For Those who Cruise: Onboard Incidental Bills were how much...?
a cruise can be as inexpensive or expensive as you make it
When we go away, we spend alot more then your poll, excursions, drinks, and mostly the spa.
our last 7 night cruise was over 4k for our shipboard account

Our's is usually $1k for 2 of us for a 7-day cruise. Sometimes a little more.
We're drinkers though.
ETA: For a 4-day cruise, I'd probably expect to spend about $400.
Also, not sure how your cruise line does this, but NCL charges $12 a day per person for tips. We don't usually tip the bartenders with our cards- then it goes into a pool and is split evenly among the crew. Usually we like to give them cash at the beginning of the trip.

the last cruise i was on was an 8 day cruise
with a massage, the soda package, 1 night at a specialty restaurant, 2 excursions and drinks, i think my bill for myself only was like 350...but that is the HIGHEST ive ever had it-ive had it as low as 50 bucks for me for a week long cruise before..

Re: For Those who Cruise: Onboard Incidental Bills were how much...?
me and dh are not big drinkers... we went on a 7 night cruise had maybe 5 drinks total. What we did do though is buy the soft drink bracelet ($40 i think) for unlimited soft drinks the whole cruise.
the first cruise we went on we did so many excursions (swimming w/dolphins- $400 for both) our bill was kinda high.
its really all in your hands you could make it 200 or 2,000

Re: For Those who Cruise: Onboard Incidental Bills were how much...?
On Carnival, We probably had 1-2 alcoholic drinks per day, an occasional soda for DH, and played some bingo, went to a wine tasting, and bought a few souvenirs in the stores. We ate at the steakhouse one night, which was $30 per person. We paid for excursions before the cruise. Our total for the two of us was about $750...we thought we were being conservative, but it really added up!

Re: For Those who Cruise: Onboard Incidental Bills were how much...?
You can probably look up the prices of excursions before you leave. These tend to be the biggest ticket item. If you plan to use the spa, you can look up these prices too and plan ahead.
Our last cruise had a wine package which saved us money, we got a 5 bottle package for 7 nights (we needed a few nights off). Maybe yours has something similar for 3 nights?
Also, for reference, I haven't found the drinks too expensive on cruises - actually quite a bit cheaper than Manhattan standards. I would say beers are like $5, mixed drinks around $8, and they have bottles of wine in the low $20s. Could be different for your particular cruise but it's not like they charge you stadium prices.
You can keep it down by watching how much you drink, we usually don't drink during the day and then it isn't as much either.

Re: For Those who Cruise: Onboard Incidental Bills were how much...?
The last cruise I went on was with my mom. We don't drink ( alcohol or soda) or gamble so things stayed extremely low. I think the amount of alcohol you like to have an vacation combined with how much gambling you want to do really determines things ( plus soda, shopping, the spa etc)

Ours is usually around $1k. Drinks are expensive on the cruise. Plus, I played a good amount of BINGO. LOL

Another thing that can add up is pictures. Also if you are planning on an excursion to a beach you might be better off taking a taxi to said beach. Usually cheaper that way!
