Family Christmas Card Pic - Question
MIL insists that everyone be in it every year, is this common?
E.g.: Mil, FIL, SIL, SIL#2 & her FH, BIL & his GF, myself, DH, and DD
I guess the part that annoys me is that she chose a terrible pic that was super dark and DD had one shoe on and wasn't even looking! We suggested that she use our picture since it was brighter and DD wasn't a mess but she chose her pic.

Yes, MIL's card.
better than the card we get with JUST the grown children, no spouses or grandchildren 
I would think it was kind of strange if my MIL asked me to do it

Honestly, if it's her card then I would let her do what she wants. You suggested a better picture, she declined. That's pretty much the end of it. Just make sure you send a super cute pic of your DC.

MIL takes these types of pics all the time. I find this a little offensive, especially because she goes, "OK, now only the originals. Everyone else out."  But it would be super strange as just grown children on a card

I would probably do the same. I would bet the reason she turned down your picture is because she preferred how SHE looked in hers.
