Which carseat for almost 3 and 1/2 to 4 year old?
DD is growing out of her car seat...we have the Britax Marathon, but the straps just won't get any looser. So I'm thinking we need something better but I thought we couldn't get a booster until 4? She is 3 years, 8 months. Any thoughts, suggestions?

How big is your DD?
My DD is 4 1/2, very tall for her age...and she has another thing we can move the straps up and has plenty of room with the straps if you loosen them...and we always have to loosen them.
I know the Britax Marathon fits up to 65lbs...I am not sure much in the height though.

My DS is almost 3 and we have the Graco Nautilus and I am hoping this seat will last a very long time.

She is 43" and about 41lbs... she's over 100% in height.... I don't know why, but the lap belt is too tight.... maybe I am doing something wrong?

The crot.ch (really? This is a bad word?) buckle slides on the harness so it shouldn't be too tight only on the hip area.
If it's just the hip being too tight, just pull it looser at that area since it's a continuous harness. it should be snug, you shouldn't be able to pinch the harness at the shoulder nor should you be able to put more than a finger under it.
My suggestion? Uninstall the seat and check the harness to make sure it's not twisted or crossed or otherwise interfered with and that it is loosening/tightening properly
Make sure that the harness is coming into the seat above her shoulders and that the tips of her ears are below the shell of the seat. If she meets those two things along with being below the weight, she still fits in the seat.

AJ has been in the Nautalis since he was 16 months old and carmela since about 13 months old.
still using the 5 pt harness on the both of them. but at least i know it is the last car seat i will need
