Why are Care Bears so expensive?!?!?
DD is currently obessesed with The Care Bears...she was watching one of the on demand movies and at the end, they show pictures of kids with plush Care Bears...she was amazed...
(Here's where I shoot myself in the foot) I said "Do you want to ask Santa for a Care Bear?" 
The reply: "YES!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF CARE BEARS. I want Cheer Bear and Funshine and Oopsy Bear and Grumpy Bear and....."
So, I take my lashes and start looking on line....
To get the 8" plush bears, they're like $30 EACH!?!?!!?!?!? When the heck did stuffed animals get so expensive???!???!
Anyone seen any not so painful to my wallet???

That's what I did!! Most are $25-30...unless you want to chance the one from some strange person's basement that a kid may or may not have already played with...

Because the kids who loved them when they were small are now becoming parents and want to get them for their kids.

They still sell them??? I haven't seen them in years.
Toys in general are overpriced I think these days. I went into TRU the other day and they wanted $40 for the Woody and Buzz doll

I was looking for them too because my DD LOVES the Care Bears movie on Roku. OMG!!!..........I was shocked at the prices!!! They are just dumb stuffed bears.  And besides, they were sooooo much cuter when we were kids too. I think the ones now are a little doofy looking.

i need to bring out my carebear collection! i have all the orig. carebears...my aunt gave them to me...i think i will wait until DD is a bit older though

My DD is obsessed with Care Bears too - it started in the spring. I went on Ebay and bought a "lot" of Care Bears for $30 - it was 13 bears (some dupes) and some other random stuff. She's still playing with them over 6 months later (for a 3 yo - that's great!). Definitely go to ebay to find what you are looking for - there are TONS of people selling this stuff. I'm talking the 1980's original Care Bears - the newer ones are just not the same.

Thanks Ladies!! I agree, the new ones just aren't the same...they aren't as cuddly and cute!!! Luckily DD seems easily able to interchange the new ones and the old ones!!
I'm going to scour ebay and keep my eyes open while I'm shopping....

DD is obsessed with them too! I bought her The Care Bear movie for Christmas. We lucked out and a neighbor was having a garage sale and had about 10 Care Bears that were her daughters but they are not into them anymore. I got DD 2 for 5 dollars. Once the sale was over they just gave us the rest of them for free!!
ETA Try Amazon also.
