oil question
I'm so annoying w/ my oil questions
we closed yesterday adn had to pay the owner for oil. it was 3.29 per gallong, does that sound right?! i know they have contract with Petro, it s $740 for 225 gallons 
typically how long will 225 gallons last? I"m scared . it's a 1500 SQ FT house and I think it is used for the hot water as well

How big is the house?
ETA : I did see that you wrote the size the house I am just guessing that will probably last you close to 2 months....

It depends on the house, the oil burner they type of heat, if you like a warmer house, is it used to heat the water too.
We get an oil delivery every month in the winter but once at the beginning of the warm weather that lasts all summer.

I am a miser with the heat and I was averaging about 4 gallons a day in oil. My house was a little smaller than yours.
So you can easily be using 4-6 gallons a day if you like a warmer house (like 70 degrees and up).
At 5 gallons a day, That 225 gallons will last 45 days.

I have about the same size house, same size tank too. We set our house at 67 when home, 64 sleeping, 62 at work.
It heats our hot water too.
in the winter they usually fill us 100-120 gallons each month. We are on automatic refills.
