Jewish Moms do you decorate for Hanukkah?

Besides displaying a menorah do you do anything else?

I had some decorative stuff but not over the top. Very understated.

I do... like Leslie, understated though. We have 4 menorahs, and Alex has made 3, so I put them out - I have a hanukah table cloth that I use, and a string of dreidel lights that I put up. That's about it..

We are an interfaith home, so I decorate with winter type things. I hang snowflakes in the hall and I have a felt banner type thing that says "Happy Hanukah." I also put snowflakes on the door.

yes but over the top. we have the menorah in the window, window clings that ds puts up, another Jewish star lit in the window, lights in the house (they are menorahs and dreidels), a few crafts that ds made/will make. this year he's painting a clay dreidel and doing some hanukkah shaped sponge paint. last year he made a 3d foam menorah. all will be displayed. each ds had their own stuffed menorah out too, a few hanginging decorations. it's in every room so it's not too over powering and the kids go nuts for it!

we have a hanukah tree. its just a white tree with blue and white lights. ive always wanted one, but my dad the israeli wouldnt let me. so last year was our first hanukah with my DH and DS, so we got a tree to start our tradition.

of course now that my dad sees the tree he likes it.

Reposting because I will ask for that other post to be removed due to wrong account being used.

I do some decorating because I enjoy it but I do not go crazy because then it starts to feel like I am copying Christian traditions.

However, as of today, my dog is the proud owner of this tallis/yarmulke set and he will be in some holiday photos.



Sometimes I can't resist some purchases!!!!!!

Thanks all. To answer my own post, DH and I were discussing it. I have a hanukkah table runner and a blue table cloth. I put out the menorah. I also have a teddy bear with a blue sweater and a star of david. In the kitchen I have hanukkah dishcloths.

I also got at Target a Happy Hanukkah sign where each letter is on either a dreidle or a star.

Just the Menorah and some dreidels. When DS gets older we will make it a bit more festive.
