Pink eye question
DS has pink eye on one eye and we got meds yesterday. Should I put the drops in both eyes as a precaution? I have been told this in the past, but not by this doc yesterday.
Thoughts?

Re: Pink eye question
Initally I do not but once they have it one eye you become super vigilant about it spreading. The times where I have even suspected it might be spreading I have given drops to the other eye as well.
I say hold off and see.

Re: Pink eye question
alot of my pts do that, to prevent. As for the medication, it wouldn't hurt the eye if you do it, But once ur on the drops for 24 hrs, it's unlikely for it to spread to other eye. Just like pp said, wait for a little redness to show up, then do it. Those med bottles always have so little in it and you don't wanna run out before clearing up the infected eye. HTH

Re: Pink eye question
Ugh sorry to hear that..pink eye sucks!
I might put a drop in the other just as a precaution...but not as frequently as you are the infected eye (are you doing it 2x a day?) if of course it spreads continue wtih the regular dose
of course I am not a medical professional :)
