I buy both...I've also had a ton of pants altered for the length...and some I keep long for heels.

I am different in each store. I like the pants in NY & Co which I used to be an average in. I think they recently changed their fit because I just tried on average recetly and they were way to long... Or Im shrinking.

I hate that. Petite is perfect but barely. Regular is 5-6 inches too long. NOTHING in between.
I try to buy petite jeans. Because they are usually longer than petite pants.
But for dressier pants, I buy regular and hem them myself.  Petites are way to short for wearing heels.
AND I am 5'2 AND A HALF!!!!!
Petite goes to 5'3". But if you have longer legs than torso, it's hard to find the right length pants.

I usually wear flats, and usually buy petites. I'm a SAHM. I DO have a few pairs of pants and jeans to wear w/ heels for going out in Regular length.

I am 5'4 and regular length in most of the chain brands fit perfectly, but now regular is so long! This is a new dilemma for me, so I've just been wearing skinnies tucked into boots.

i buy petite but i also rarely wear heels. i have noticed that petite is almost too long on my at the Gap these days and i have been needing to get them hemmed.

I always buy regular, I almost never wear flats and never to work, so the regular is perfect with heels. I have one pair of jeans in petite for the rare occasions that I wear flats with them.
