Giving cold medicine to baby?
When would you give tylonol-like medicine to your infant? DD is 2.5 months and she has been sneezing a lot more than normal and she's starting to cough a bunch. I'm not sure if its a cold or if the coughing is from the extra saliva because she is drooling very much now. Her temp is 98.8. She was really irratable last night while she slept. What would you do?

Aw, it is so tough at this age when they get a cold.
They do not recommend cough/cold medicine for children under 4 years old. Just try to make her as comfortable as possible with the coughing. Use a humidifer at night. If DD had a coughing fit during the day, I would steam up the bathroom and bring her in there. If her nose was congested I used the saline drops (made by Little Ones) and that extractor thing, which I cant think of the name of right now.

There isnt really much you can do. You cant give colds meds anymore until like 5.
I would not give tylenol for a cough, since it cant help it.
Have you tried elevating the mattress, some baby vicks rub on the feet and a humidifier?
Hope she feels better.

Re: Giving cold medicine to baby?
I agree with the previous posters in that Tylenol won't hel with cold symptoms. 98.8 is NOT a fever, BTW. Anything over 100.3 is.
Things that have worked for me: saline drops in each nostril, then let sit for a few minutes. Then suck them out with the aspirator.
warm mist humidifier
Baby vicks
