DH and I are currently arguing over what furniture is really necessary in the nursery.

We have 2 rooms to choose from the make the nursery 1 of them is a little larger than the other.

The smaller room can't fit a crib, dresser (with changing pad on top), tall dresser of drawers, and glider.

I think we can do without 1 of the dressers. The room has a big closet. DH TOTALLY disagrees saying the larger room MUST be the nursery.

I was hoping to make the larger room a combined office/guest room, which the smaller room is to small for.

SO, how many pieces of furniture is necessary??

Sorry so long.. and TIA!

i would say the only thing you really need is the crib and dresser/changer combo

maybe you can put a glider in another room

you def. dont need the tall dresser of drawers esp. if you have a large closet in that room.

I have always hung EVERYTHING of DD's and plan to do the same with #2, so we used our dresser (3 VERY small drawers) for her towels, sheets, washcloths, stockings..etc things that can't really be hung and I didn't store in the closet.

a changing table really isnt that necessary to me, i didnt have one with my daughter, and right now this baby is going to have to share a room w/her, so im going to do without it. i used to just put a changing pad on the bed and change her there. i think drawers and a lot of closet space are necessary

i agree.... we have a HUGE closet in ds's room & a changing table/dresser combo & that is more than enough room!!
