so in general, how do you find really good spas
If you are traveling and want to experience a great spa, how do you find it? I looked online and there do not seem to be websites that have comprehensive spa reviews. I am staying at a conference hotel that has a spa but I'd rather go off site to a great spa that offers a full spa experience. I loved the spa at the Hyatt in Kauai, where I know some LIFers have been. I want an experience comparable to that but I'm not going to Hawaii.

im going to equinox in Vermont in a couple weeks. I don't know how it compares to spas in general but I hear it is great.

Have fun!!!! I mean, I know where I am going on a trip and I know that there are spas in the area but I do not know how to find out which ones are really good.

Where are you going?
Allure magazine does some reviews on the spas their like and what treatment they like there. They may have archives.

Puerto Rico. A bankruptcy law conference but I booked some extra time there  .
Last time I went to a convention with this group, they were so much fun!!!!!!

Have you looked on Spafinder.com? They have reviews for spas.

Ask on the PR forum on tripadvisor! I'm sure people on there can point you in the right direction.

maybe google map where you are going and then type in "spa" to see what pops up and where. then go to each ones website and check it out and also, this way you will have specific names of area spas to google for reviews.

Cool . My treatments are booked and I left some time in between for jacuzzi, lunch & whatever else they have for relaxation. I'm going to check out the waterpark at that hotel also. I wish my conference was there!!!

Conde Nast and Travel and Leisure both publish rankings on resorts and spas every year.
I also visit gayot.com before I plan trips. they are usually good with spa suggestions.
Tripadvisor is also a favorite to visit before travel. Sometimes you get a lot of mixed reviews on there though. I like to compare normal person reviews against the editors of the well known travel magazines and websites.
