Anyone else have a problem with bedding and their pillowtop mattress?

I am so annoyed. When we first moved into our house I let DH talk me into a pricey pillowtop mattress. HATE IT!!! I also let him talk me into buying a sleigh bed. HATE IT!!!

I have the hardest time finding a comforter that actually fits over the mattress correctly. Some comforters actually look short on the sides and we have a king so it's not like I have a queen and can buy a king comforter to make it work.

I also have a hard time fitting any comforter inbetween the mattress and bottom of the sleigh bed. The mattress is so big that it doesnt leave much room.

I am looking for new bedding and am not finding anything I like. Last time I bought bedding I had to buy 4 sets before I found a comforter that fit on the bed correctly.

I have one of those pricey pillowtops and a sleigh bed. It's a queen, and I have a queen comforter so I know what you mean, the comforter doesn't hang down far enough but I don't much care. I'm not ready to buy a King comforter yet. When i'm ready to change my colors i'll buy the new comforter.

We have a few inches in between our bed and the frame, not sure why yours is so tight but I can see that being annoying!

What DOES irk me about this pillowtop is the body impressions (but the bed itself is still uber-comfortable!!). I figured with all the money we plunked down it would be perfect forever! ugh! dh said it happens to all pillowtops. Wonder if others have that experience.

Next mattress will not be a pillowtop.

I have a queen and my comforter does look a touch too short but what if you got California King bedding for your king bed?

I have to say our pillowtop is so comfy that I dont even care how the bedding looks.

I think we're on the same brain wave but I was just ordering new bedding from PB because my duvet cover (which i still LOVE) is so old that it's tearing at the edges.

I have a similar mattress and had the SAME exact problem. I even posted about it on here that I couldn't find a comforter to fit because they were too shot on the sides. Getting a california king did not help because it is not wider than a regular king size comforter (just longer).

I found this website and ordered a comforter from there. You just have to order king size but they have some comforters that are oversized. They are wider than normal king size comforters. I love it.
