Bathtub/Shower Cleaner
No matter what I do I feel the the tub/shower is always dirty. I cannot get rid of the moldy looking black on the grout (the soft grout around the tub, not sure what that is called). Also, there is so much soap scum!! I have used Scrubbing Bubbles and bleach but it doesn't work well. I want to start giving my DD a bath in the tub but I refuse to (she is still bathed in the sink) until I can get it ultra clean and KEEP it clean!!!
Any suggestions on how to REALLY clean a tub?????? TIA

Re: Bathtub/Shower Cleaner
I use Tilex mold & mildew remover and it works great. All you do is spray it on wait a few minutes and rinse off with water. I do have to warn you that it STINKS like chemicals, but it gets my grout and caulking around the tub super clean. Good luck!

We had the nasty black stuff on the caulking too (it was like that when we bought the hosue). I tried everything undert the sun and it would not come off. Honestly, you might want to scrape off the caulking and have it re-caulked. If DH is handy... he can probablydo it!

Re: Bathtub/Shower Cleaner
I'm not a big fan of using many chemicals when I clean. Bleach eats at the grout. I use it as a last resort. I use white vinegar and a toothbrush to scrub the grout. Stinks, but works. Brush it on, let it set a bit, then go at it with the toothbrush.
For the tub, I use soft scrub (no bleach) or baking soda and warm water with a brush - a sponge just won't get off enough of the soap scum. I don't like using anything that is too abrasive, like the Magic Eraser or Ajax or Comet. It scratches the surface.
For the tile I use Mr. Clean and a little elbow grease. Sometimes a bit of baking soda with a sponge. The brush I found out will scratch the tile.
