starting purees schedule

when you started your DC on puree's can you tell me what the schedule was like? Like what time of day you gave them / and the order in which you introduced them. I'm confused as to when you start fruits vs starting veggies and such. Chat Icon

Thanks so much!

Re: starting purees schedule

We started DS at 4 months. We began with veggies and then moved to fruits. My pediatrician reccommended 2 feedings a day. I would feed him purees/solids first thing in the morning and then again at around 3 he would also take a bottle with these feedings. My first foods went in this order:

carrots
squash
sweet potatoes
peas
apples
pears
bananas

I hope I am explaining what you are asking, let me know if you need more help.

I started DS at 4 months, he had fruits, then veggies, one meal per day, then by 4 and half months, he was two per day, and by 6 he was on all stage 2 food, 3 meals per day...if you need specific, let me know! Starting food is so much fun!!!!Chat Icon

Re: starting purees schedule

We started at 4m too. Our ped said cereals, fruit, 5m vegetables, he said green first.

I did cereal in the am and pm. After that I added lunch (fruit). Then:

breakfast: cereal w/ fruit
lunch: fruit
dinner: cereal w/ veg

I made my own food. Let me know if you have other questions. Our ped also said food first, then the bottle. Most people do the bottle first though I think.
