Julia's Carousel First Birthday with small review and pics!!
And it went so well!! We couldn't have asked for a better day or a more beautiful event. We did it at the Prospect Park carousel in Brooklyn. They designated a spot of us and we did a small candy buffet, heroes, pizza, cake etc.. Our cake was beautiful and so tasty but the carousel top didn't stay up for long as it was so heavy!! I got Julia's birthday outfit for Lester's and the tutu was half off!!
I was a little concerned the "older" kids would get bored easily but they had a BALL!! They rode the carousel, there is an awesome grassy area right by the carousel to run around and plan in etc... I couldn't have been more happy with the way it turned out. Most of all, I think Julia had a good time too!!

She is just so beautiful and that is such a cool party!
I love the cake too, I'm sorry the top didn't stay on that long. It still looked gorgeous!

Thank you so much everyone!! It really was a great day. And very affordable!! We are in apt right now in NYC and this was our answer to having a "backyard party." We had the choice of doing the party as a private event or during public hours. We chose public hours because it was cheaper and the party time was more convenient. I know other parks do carousel parties as well: Central Park, Bryant, etc and it is a great alternative for the city folk. We were alotted two hours but with clean-up in such in ended up being three and no hard time was given by them. We ordered our own food and had it delivered. As I mentioned in my post, there was a great grassy area for all the kids to run around it right by the carousel. I would definitely recommend this venue!
