this has been asked before but I'm asking again...Re: christmas stockings
I'm getting all new coordinating stockings this year and they will be monogramed. Right now we have mommy and daddy on ours. Should I make the new ones say Carolyn and Fred?
What do you have?
What did your parents do? My parents were divorced so that's why I can;t answer that question and I can't remember if my mom even had a stocking.

All our stockings are the plain red ones with the white fuzzy on top. I put the names on them myself with Elmer's glue and glitter! 
I like them simple!
ETA: Oh yeah, the stockings for me and DH have our real names on them, not mom and dad.

I had ordered stockings for all of us from Lillian Vernon (they have really cute ones you can personalize)
I put Dana, James, Emerson. not mommy, daddy etc.
My parents had everyones first names too

My parents had their first names on theirs and still do since they have the same ones from when I was little.

we got new stockings last year, all crocheted with our first name initial only so we have A, V, J, S 
ets - I got silver pins for the initials. they had them at target

My parents' stockings said Mom and Dad. We have stocking that have our first initials and I think we are going to get one for DS. I think next year when #2 arrives, we will get monogrammed ones.
ETA because I didn't answer your question!! I think ours will say mom and dad.

I have always had the basic ones (that I made with glitter) but now that my family is complete I want handmade stockings.

This is our first Christmas as parents... we have stockings already for ourselves and they each have our initial on them. But I think I want to get a new set that can coordinate with each other, including for DS. Not sure what to put on them?!? Mom/Mommy/Mami, Dad/Daddy/Papi... ugh... somethings the bilingual thing makes things confusing

We also have the red traditional one's with the fuzzy tops. I also used Glue and glitter on them! That's what we had growing up so it's sort of the norm for us. Maybe next year I'll get the fancier one's. I just wish they made the fancier one's bigger. My boys stockings right now about 2 ft long!
ETA: Growing up my brother had a stocking that was the size of a door. Talk about jealous!

Ours say "Mommy" and "Daddy"... we might upgrade to "Mom" and "Dad" in a few years.. or maybe "Softie" and "Sucker"

Well, you would be better off if they said Carolyn and Fred than if they just said some random names .
Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm Jewish and I have no business on this thread other than to harass you  .
I guess I would say that if you are ordering new ones anyway, use the personal touch of having your actual names. Or save your money and buy me a hanukah gift.

We have Mom and Pop. Not a fan of the Pop thing, but that's what DH wants to be called because that's what he called his dad. Though I think we're gonna confuse her because I call him Daddy. He does do that sometimes too, though.
