work attire
I still don't think this is appropriate
Leggings with a long skirt.
Cute look (I think) but for work?

Re: work attire
Leggings with a long skirt? How long? I don't think that seems inappropriate, just weird to combine the two

Re: work attire
I work in a very casual environment. I wear jeans almost everyday. Or leggings and long tops and sweaters. So that would be appropriate for my work. Although, I don't know if I love the look of leggings with a skirt. Maybe opaque tights wtih a skirt, but not leggings.

Re: work attire
I know many religious women that would wear long skirts and leggings frequently, because the leggings are more comfortable than tights but serve the same function (covering the legs).

Re: work attire
Is this an outfit a certain someone is wearing ?
I don't like the look of leggings under skirts. It looks bulky. Tights should be worn under a long skirt.

Re: work attire
not sure what's inappropriate about it?
i mean, a long skirt with leggings might look a little bulky and yes, tights would look better but it's nothing to do with work appropriateness and leggings under a shorter skirt is just fine
i have a few short dresses that i wear leggings under in the fall and i think i look ok my office is also super casual and i can pretty much wear anything

Would you consider it business attire? Would you wear it to a meeting with clients?

Re: work attire
I don't think so. I think this would look a little bit too much. And it's appropriate I think. In the "if it's ok for work" sense. But someone actually wearing this? Eeeek!
However, I am seeing a lot of girls in my office wearing leggins and long sweaters with boots. And we work in a so called professional environment. But no one has said anything yet do I guess it's ok.

Re: work attire
I think it's probably okay. But it would depend on the work environment. If everyone else is wearing suits, then probably not.

I think what threw me is the leggins and flats with the tat showing.
First I got a look a the skirt, then the leggins then the tat..shoes are fine of course.
We bring vendors in all of the time that are in suits..the management for the most part are in shirts and ties and my boss is always dressed conservatively although on Fridays she will wear her birkenstocks.
I'm usually in pants, top, cardigan or skirt, dress with the same.

Re: work attire
Why would it be inappropriate? if that's her style then what does it matter?
I just don't get why you care what she is wearing?? everyone has a different way of dressing, it would be boring if we all dressed the same !

This is not a casual office. That's casual clothes. That's why I care.
It all comes down to appropriateness for the office. She pushes the envelope and has been spoken to already.

Re: work attire
i kind of think i would be annoyed by this too. my office JUST went biz casual permanently, from corporate attire, but if someone pushes the envelope it'll be gone.
i also told our analyst that even biz casz, i don't think leggings will fly given the environment it is.

Re: work attire
Are you this person's direct boss? If so, then I would say something as it would reflect poorly on you.
Otherwise, I really do not care what other people wear to the office. I am not the dress code enforcer.

Re: work attire
it annoys me when i try ot dress professionially and then someone shows up in a non-work appropriate outfit.
the other day my report showed up in a green celtics jersey over a white t shirt, and dress slacks. i made a comment ,"did i not get the notice that is was casaul Friday?"
if he was not my report, i would not have said something
but i understnad your annoyance
the slobbening of america is here unfortunately.
