PSA for Brazillian Blowouts
Formaldehyde Found In Brazilian Blowout!
Oregon's Occupational Safety & Health Administration have found the Brazilian Blowout contains anywhere between 8% and 10% of formaldehyde, which is known to cause certain types of cancer.
YIKES!

Yeah, there was an article in Allure magazine about 3 years ago... to sum it up, brazilian/keratin straightening formulas that supposedly had no formaldehyde were tested and they found significant amount of formaldehyde in them. This is why I won't get Brazillian done.

is differnt than brazillian.
but alot of places just say brazillian keratin.
or they dont tell you the brand they are using or use cheap chit that does have formaldedye.
its good to google and reasearch.
we use copolla system for keratin..
but i have been around other so called keratins that made me feel sick and eyes burn and want to pass out so yes, be careful :

This is why my mom stopped getting it done about 2 yrs ago and why I spend an 1 hr to straighten my hair...all those chemicals scare me.

Thanks for the info - the hairstylist I went to also uses coppola, so that makes me feel better

I am actually thinking of doing this so can someone tell me what's the safest way to go and how long that method lasts? Also, if you can recommend a place that would be great.
