best kept secret? maybe ;)
I just found out from a friend who is a makeup artist that "Monistat Chafing Relief Gel" works great as a makeup primer , she actually says it works just as well as smashbox photofinish and many other more expensive brands, she says she has been using it for 2 yrs now. I guess bc they all have similar ingredients....
So I just googled it and what do you know, this $7 gel is getting great reviews from people who use it as a makeup primer and yes it does have the same ingredients as all the other silicone based primers
Has anyone on here tried it? I am tempted to try and see, I mean it's not medicated or anything, it's just a silicone based gel that protects your skin from chafing, so I guess it makes sense that it would work

WOW it really does work so well ! My friend let me try hers , it kept my face oil free all day and my concealer didn't fade/melt away all day.
I am going to buy it tomorrow , I don't wear makeup much but when I do will def be using this as a primer from now on

what does a primer do?
it makes your makeup go on smooth, prevents the foundation/concealer from setting onto lines and keeps your face oil free and makeup lasts longer . Or at least that's what it's supposed to do

In the yeast infection department. I can totally picture myself whipping out my monistat cream while applying makeup in a public bathroom, like at a wedding or something. I know, I know, it's a base so I would not be touching it up but still.

I have it and it works amazing!!!! I'm prone to bad breakouts and I usually use the Smashbox oil free primer, but I haven't had any issues with this stuff. I got it @ drugstore.com because I couldn't find it in the store.

Ugh I can't find this in stores! Would it only be by the yeast infection creams? Maybe somewhere else too? I really want to get it to try it for my son's baptism this weekend, otherwise I'd order from drugstore.com.

OMG I just saw all the posts after I posted last time on here. I found it in CVS, they had bunch on the shelf. Duane read (spl) has it too and so does Kmart. It's with all the Monastat stuff.
I don't use primer/base every day , only when I go out, but every time I use it I love how my skin looks and how it keeps my skin oil free (I have oily T-zone)
