walking for diabetes

i know this is a long shot and times are tough for most but i figured I would throw it out there

DH and I (along with our 4 month old and dog) will be walking for Juvenile (type I) Diabetes on 10/3! We have joined the team of a close friend who has had type I Diabetes for many, many years.

It really is a great cause and every penny helps those who are affected and those who will be diagnosed tomorrow and in the future!

I work in healthcare, diagnosing diseases such as Peripheral Arterial Disease and Renal Disease and it's heartbreaking to see a 35 year old need to go on dialysis because his kidney have shut down due to Diabetes. Or -- when the results of my patient's latest duplex show that she needs an amputation. It's heartwrenching. This is someone's mother, sister, daughter, father, brother, son.

It could be any of us.
