When she stop screaming/crying at drop off
Ugh
Every day we drop her off its like a drama unfolding. The tears, the "no, no, walk, peez, up, peez" She hates us leaving. I dont know what to do. I've tried the drop and walk, the drop and hide, the hug kiss and wave, nothing's working.
We leave and she's bent over backwards crying her lungs out being held by a teacher as she struggles to join us.
But by the time it takes to walk across two rooms, she's fine. Right now they are in a set up that allows us to hear and see her without her seeing us. She cries less than a minutes and she's sniffly but ok.
I call her my little fraud, but honestly it bothers me that she cries so.
Jim said it could be our fault...
Like we feel as if we are having too much fun on the weekends that is our fault she doesnt want to go back to school.
Aug 21-22 (zoo) Aug 28-29 (day out with Auntie) Sept 4-5-6 (Aquarium) Sept 11-12 (Circus)
Future plans include taking her to a two different kiddie play land type places, plus another trip to the Chidlren's museum. Then Seaworld in Oct.
We live for our weekends. We pack them with as much affordable fun we can. We buy tickets on coupons or sale ads, etc.
Even our evenings are 'planned' with bathtime play and night 'walks' under the stars to see the moon and the airplanes while we walk to out to get our mail. Or trips to various stores where she can get a balloon or walk around a toy section etc.
We 'may' be over stimulating her...
I dunno.. has anyone else had this happen? What do I do? Will it pass?
Is there a way to make it easier on her and us?
I miss the days where we'd drop her off and she'd be sitting there eating her breakfast while we waved bubye. She'd wave back and that was it, no tears. But that was up to June.. now in Aug-Sept its all tears.
Sorry for rambling....
It just kills us

Re: When she stop screaming/crying at drop off
I 100% feel your pain. Riley has just started this, and she's 14 months. It's killer and completely breaks my heart. Today was rough for me as always, but when I got to the car, I really tried to convince myself that yes, the drop off sucks but as the day goes on she is FINE. She is playing, she's having fun.
The fact that AJ is all better when you're 2 rooms down the hall says a lot! She knows what she's doing...which is frustrating! I don't think you're doing anything wrong at all! Hang in there! It's tough!

Re: When she stop screaming/crying at drop off
Its really starting to frutrate us since its been a month now.
She pulls the same act at home and I say "enough" and give her the stern look and she'll stop. If not, I threaten with Time Out and that always works, I have rarely put her in timeout for being a brat (though it has happened).
I swears she KNOWS that I wont do that to her in school. I won't be stern or threaten with Time Out. School is the ONLY true timeout free area she has.
I hope she gets over this. Because at 3yrs old you can't walk in with them. You sorta need to just drop and drive off. They will come to the car and pick her up and take her to her class. officially they are supposed to do that to her now too, but we are there for 'before care' which allows us the ability to walk her in and say goodbye.
