This is the exact reason I won't do any of those hair straightening treatments. Whether they have formaldyhyde or not, they have some heavy duty chemical compoun that will transform my hair but seep into my body over time.... And I don't want to be harmed by something so strong and so unregulated/untested over time.

Many moons ago when i worked in retail this lady was talking to me and she asked me how old she was... I am so bad at that... And her son was with her. She was well in to her 70s but she did not have one wrinkle. She told me all what she uses is ivory soap and water and she swore that is what kept her skin looking so young.
I went out that day and bought ivory soap

I rarely, if ever, wear makeup. Only if I attend a wedding or something. Other than that, Aveeno cleanser with Avon anti-wrinkle cream w/SPF. That's all folks.

I wonder this often.
I had clear skin as a teen. In my early 20's my skin got bad and I went on accutane. But I had to use foundation and cover up, etc.
Then it was better and I didn't have to wear makeup again. 
then I got pregnant and had a mc and my face in INSANE!! My skin got sooooo bad!! And now I'm allergic to benzoil peroxide and I can't go on accutane (we are TTC) so I have to use other stuff... and I'm back to all the foundation, cover up and powder again. Every time i put it on I think about what you wrote. But at the same time, my skin is so atorcious right now that I really feel I NEED to wear the makeup!!!!

Me either... but thats probably because i never wear makeup and i RARELY put any sort of moisturizer on...

Me neither. My mom has been wearing makeup forever. She takes care of her skin and she doesn't look as old as many other women her age.

I also truly believe that it's genetic so no matter what you use (or don't), genetics will get you.

I didn't use any make up or facial products during my pregnancies bc I was worried about teh chemicals. I also don't buy too many creams etcbecause at the end of the day skin quality has to do with genes and diet

I think this totally depends on one's skin. I know that if I only used regular soap and water on my face and never moisturized i would look like a piece of sh*t! So, I use my trusted Murad and drink plenty of water and my skin never looked better. Also, and I think this is important, I don't eat junk food or drink soda. I wear make up, but definitely not everyday, since I don't work right now.
My grandma, on the other hand, has never used make-up, except for lose powder and lipstick, and never used any kind of skin care products except for the said soap and water, and her skin is amazing still, and she is well into her 80s.
