ugh..what would you do re: living room rug.
drat and double drat. I found a rug that I LOVE in home goods the other day. great colors, perfect size. only $250. I love it.
the problem is, we just recently bought one for the same room. we spend a little more I think...and it's a nice rug. but I only LIKE it.
this other rug is so much more perfecter and I wuv it *pouts*   
but how can I justify buying it when we have a brand new and perfectly "nice" one gracing my floor as we speak.
I've already tried to think of any room I could move the current rug to. no go. it's the only room it works in.
but....my true love rug is hanging in home goods.
bah.
tell me to forget it. not to buy it.
it doesn't help that the rug we bought, we bought on line the colors aren't what we really wanted. so I was never in love to begin with. bahahahahaha 
tell me to get over her. the rug and I were never meant to be.

Buy the new rug... a rug (at least for me) is a long term purchase.. you'll get your money's worth out of it.. and it you don't love the one you have, you will be reminded of it EVERY time you enter the dang room.
Post the old rug on here and sell it ;)

is it 8x10 or bigger? if so 250 is cheap and I wouldn't worry about it. Plus you can put it down again when DS is potty training (we just had to get rid of our rug b/c of this)

I agree with a pp- post it here, craigslist wherever and try and sell the old one and buy what you love
if it was me, I would think about that rug everytime I stepped in the room otherwise

or like a previous post said, keep the one you "like" and use it when your DS starts potty training.

Totally sell it and get the one you want. I sold my Pottery Barn rug that we used for a YEAR and got a fair amount for it!

I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
You have to have the HomeGoods/ TJ Maxx/ Marshalls mentality which is (and I'm sorry to say this) that it may not be there when you go back.
I would call over there tomorrow and ask the manager to hold it for you if you can't get there during the day.
I have bought so many things there that I was on the fence with and returned them if it didnt work.
Hoping it's there waiting for you!!

Definitely buy the rug you love!! I agree with pp that you should then just try to sell the one you have. No reason to keep something you don't love especially if you plan on having it for a while. Your love for the new rug definitely comes through in your post  Hurry to HomeGoods!!!

Can you return the other rug? if you got it online, then see if you can tell them the colors are different from what you thought, and you want to return it.
if you don't want to go through that hassle, and spend $$ to return it, then see if you can sell it online.
i agree with others. $250 is not a large amount of money for a rug, and if you love it, you'll regret not buying it every time you walk in the room!

Buy the rug-sell your on Craigslist or Ebay.
Or, buy the rug and just pretend it cost what ever the sum of both rugs is. YOu would still buy a rug you loved for this amount, right?
Donate the original rug if you can't sell it. Someone in need will love it and thank their lucky stars for a such a find. They probably never get a virtually new rug for almost nothing. They deserve pretty things too.
