keeping floors clean with a crawling DC
My 7.5 mo DS is crawling and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a light weight vac that does floors and carpet? We have a central vac system that works great but want something very easy to pull out on a daily basis. We also have a choco lab and need to be able to pick up his hair.

This is the BEST. My favorite part is the pet hair removal attachment w/ brush... it's amazing!

I've been using a swiffer wet jet in the kitchen and the regular dyson for all the rugs/carpets
But I feel like its a battle I'm losing with two black labs

I have this, and love it to pieces! Its very powerful for what it is, its cordless and always ready to go. Although the directions don't say you can, I practically take the entire thing apart and wash it in warm water and soap and it works like new after each cleaning.
Its easier than using a swiffer.

Re: keeping floors clean with a crawling DC
Thanks for all the resources. I am going to look into three at this point (at least I feel like it is narrowed down a bit). I also heard that Oreck has a really good one.

Re: keeping floors clean with a crawling DC
thanks for asking this... we have a 15 mth old german shepherd who is shedding like crazy and when ds starts to crawl it will be winter and we will all be home bound. My DH just asked me a few days ago about something like this, I just hate buying yet ANOTHER floor cleaning item, we already have a vacuum (so big for everyday quick use but its what I use now), a dirt devil sweep vac (which doesn't work well with dog hair) and a steam mop (which is only good after the hair is gone) I'll probably see if I can get lucky with one of your suggestions from ebay..

Re: keeping floors clean with a crawling DC
I want to thank you for posting this too, we have a chocolate lab and DD is walking all over the place, the hair is killing me when I dress her and see hair on her or her hands! I know I can't eliminate it fully but I need something stronger than what I am using now.

Re: keeping floors clean with a crawling DC
I have the Shark Stick Vac and it works pretty good. We have 2 cats and hardwood floors. This sucks up the cat hair, and is easy to maneuver under tables. It's cordless and comes with 2 rechargable battery packs.
I got it at Kohls for about $100. You could get it cheaper if you find a 30% off code, and usually free shipping for orders over $75.
I still use my big vacuum for weekly cleaning, but this is good for day-to-day cleaning. Image Attachment(s):
