TTC and House Hunting: do I wait?

So I know I have posted a lot about not being sure about having another child. A lot is being nervous that I won't be able to handle the pressure of being a mom of two. The other part has had a lot to do with our living situation. I always thought we would sell our condo and buy a house and TTC and it would all fall into place.

Well, we sold our place but have't found a new place yet (we didn't look until we were officially in contract). So we close in a month and we will be living with my parents until we find our perfect home.

Which leads me up to...what do I do about TTC? Do we try now and just roll with the chaotic punches? Or do we wait to TTC until we find a place?

No one can give me the right answer but I am just writing this down because I guess I need some support.

We are blessed to be able to move in my with my parents but this is also a scary time for us because we are losing our privacy and our own home base. DD will take over my old bedroom (where she already plays when my parents watch her every day) and DH and I will have a small corner of the basement for our bed and maybe one dresser. Everything else in storage.

I just feel really lost these days and the TTC part makes me feel even more confused. I just need to get this out.

I would start now. You don't want to miss what could potenially be your month, because circumstances aren't ideal.

I'm sure a lot of people would say to try now, that circumstances are never perfect, but it could take you a year or more to find a house, and I personally wouldn't want to be pregnant or with a baby in that living situation. So I'd wait.

We're ttcing right now and are going into contract on a house, the inspection is this Saturday..NOTHING is stopping us from TTCing

Jules, I don't have any words of wisdom about TTC. I will tell you if I can handle 2 kids, you sure can as well

I wouldnt wait... you never know how things will go with either one. We started TTC and house hunting concurrently. I then had 3 MCs in 9 mos and got PG (and it stuck) the week we moved into our new house. Things have a way of working out the way they're supposed to!

we didn't wait. we sold our condo while TTC, and lived in my IL's basement until we closed on our house (about 4 months). we conceived DD while living at the IL's. we weren't going to stop TTC just because we were living in the basement.

Don't wait - just roll with the punches. Babies don't take up a lot of room anyway!

I don't know if this is an issue, but do you need to ask your parents if they mind if you wind up having a baby while living in their house? I know my mom or my ILs would not want a baby in their house (the crying, noise, etc.).

To me it would be different if you were in contract for a house, but we looked for over a year, and I wound up moving when I was 8 months pregnant (4 months after going to contract). But we overlapped mortgages, so staying elsewhere wasn't an issue.

I've been making excuses about TTC since having a MC last September. My latest was I wanted to lose weight - well I have lost only a little bit...but I really don't want to wait anymore. Just go for it! You don't want Sabrina and the new baby to be too far apart in age do you? I figure Sydney will be just shy of 4 when we have another baby if all goes well.

We were in your situation and we started TTC while looking for a new house. We didn't want to wait and you never know how long it will take to get PG. I was 12 weeks pg when we closed on the house. Good Luck

I wouldn't wait. You never know how long it will take to get pregnant or find a house! It could all happen next month, 6 months, 12 moths or longer!

Want to hear how crazy I am?
We are moving, and our closing date was the same date as my scheduled c-section with the twins! Plus we have a 2-yr-old.
The babies ended up coming a week early and closing got pushed back 3 days. So they will be just under 2 weeks old when we close.
The one bit of advice I can give is, if possible, have your two places overlap so you don't have to do the move in 1 day. The closing date for the house we are selling is a month after the date of us getting the new house. Knowing we don't have to rush out and we have 3-4 weeks to paint, do floors, etc and take our time moving makes it a lot easier.
Lately I feel like nothing ever goes according to plan so I wouldn't hold off on TTC or house hunting. Just go with the flow and it will all work out in the end.

I think its very rude TTC while house hunting... you should only TTC in your house Eh, go for it... they are selling the house anyway.

I wouldn't wait. Everything falls into place in the long run. If you are emotionally ready for another, then go for it.

There was an article in the Times or Journal last week about banks not giving mortgages to pregnant women or giving them a hard time when it comes to getting a loan so I'd get the house asap
