Another Disney question in November
We are planning on going to disney this November. Originally I wanted to go late November, but now the rest of the people we are going with prefer early November. But my concern is my reason for going in November is for the winter decorations.
According to the info I can find the holiday celebration begins Nov 8, does this mean that things like the Osborne light decorations will be up ? We would be going the following week.
Has anyone gone in early November and if so what Christmas decor was up already?
I dont want to go that week if I am going to miss what I really want to be there for. Last year we were there the week before halloween and so this year I thought it would be nice to go for Christmas, plus my DS's 2 favorite things are fireworks and christmas lights!
Thanks!

Re: Another Disney question in November
I went mid-November a couple of years ago. Most of the decorations were up (the trees, etc.) Osborne family lights weren't running yet but Cinderella's castle was decorated in "ice" and there were carolers, etc. It was very Christmasy

That would be fantastic, I was just looking for a # to see who I could call to find out.
I know the Very Merry Christmas Party starts on the 8th but I am really curious about the Osborne Spectacle of Lights...if you could find out when that starts I would be very appreciative!
Thanks!

Those dates (11/8 - 1/4) should be correct.
If you're staying at a Disney resort, be sure you have checked for any available promotions (if you haven't already). There were a number of 40% off PIN codes mailed out for that time of year, as well as a "free dining" promotion for mid-November.
Disney during the holidays is one of my favorite vacation spots - Enjoy!

Re: Another Disney question in November
Thanks Bob, we are staying on disney property. Discussing Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club (going with 2 other families so trying to all agree )
we have an email with a pin for the dining plan which worked well when DH and I went with DS last year!
Thanks everyone! I am so excited to see it decorated for Christmas!

Re: Another Disney question in November
My pleasure, Kelly! I've stayed at both WL and BC multiple times this year, and enjoyed each for different reasons.
BC is my favorite of all the Disney resorts. I love the atmosphere there with the boardwalk area is just a short stroll away, the beds are among the most comfortable anywhere on Disney property, the proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios cannot be beat, and finally there is Stormalong Bay.
That said, the holidays and Wilderness Lodge are an awesome combination. In fact, this is where I will be staying with my family in December. The rooms are going to be a bit smaller and darker, but they do have the bunk bed option if that works for your family. To me, it's just a better match for that time of year.
If you have any questions about either resort, I would be more than happy to help!

Re: Another Disney question in November
Mid November is a perfect time to go down to Disney. We went last year around Nov. 12th and everyday there would be more and more decorations added. It was fun to watch the transformation. The Osbourne Lights began right around that time. Wilderness Lodge was decorated and in my opinion really has a Christmas feel becasue of it's rustic log cabin decor. The crowds were pretty lite during the week. I usually just lurk on these boards and key word search for information, but activated my account because I wanted to share what a wonderful time we had. We are planning another Nov trip. Have a great time!
