DC/Williamsburg/Hershey??
OK...I need a vacation
I want to go to Disney, I just don't think we have the time and my inlaws would probably freak if we went and didn't "swing by"(they live south of Orlando)
So I am now rethinking a trip to DC/Williamsburg/Hershey or an amalgamation of them.
Looking at A Sun-Thursday week of the 23rd of August (most likely)
My DD is going to be 5....she is an AWESOME traveller, so I am not worried even in the slightest about a long car ride (famous last words)
Help?
Pros/Cons...anyone with experiences in these places? How expensive am I looking at.
OR should I just screw it all and go to a gorgeous beach resort in Jersey.

Re: DC/Williamsburg/Hershey??
hopefully going that week to williamsburg, va.
do you want a relaxing vacation or a somewhat non relaxing vacation?
my family rents a house on the jersey shore and it is just pure relaxation. dc, williamsburg and hershey and not as relaxing and more things to do.

Re: DC/Williamsburg/Hershey??
The DH and I are going to the Dominican Republic in November, so I guess I wanna do stuff with Bella. (I just haven't had a vacay in so long )
That's a great point. Thanks.
Now I have narrowed it a teensy bit.

If you head towards PA, there are a TON of things to do in Hershey, Lancaster and Philly.
Williamsburg is great, but definitely more adult oriented (but still things to do with kids of course)

i agree with hershey. it is more child oriented. my nieces went there around 5/6. they went to dc wen they were 6/7 or 1st and 2nd grade. ( i personally found most of dc boring when i was younger - not into history). this year they are 8/9 and we are going to williamsburg. we are also going to virgina beach so hopefully they won't be bored.

Re: DC/Williamsburg/Hershey??
Went to hershey last year with the family, DS was 18 months, Nieces were 3 and 4, nephew was 8 all of us even the adults loved it.
We did hershey park and the hershey museum downtown (complete with the make your own chocolate lab). There is also alot not too far, Dutch wonderland seems to be popular as well. You can also do Hershey and Baltimore in one trip, 2 nights say in Hershey and 1 or 2 in Baltimore woudl be fun!

Re: DC/Williamsburg/Hershey??
If you decide to go to Hershey - I have a membership that I can use to get discounted tickets. Feel free to FM if you are interested. Thanks.
The family and I are going to Hershey Aug 13-14. We are SO looking forward to this trip. We went two years ago for Oktoberfest and let's just say we did NOT have a good time. It was so cold and we were so miserable waiting in those lines in the freezing weather. So we are looking forward to this trip and hope to have a better experience.
They have a Preview Plan that allows you to preview the park for 2 1/2 hours before closing they night before you are due to go to the park. We are going to use the 2 1/2 hours to visit the factory, buy souveniers and play games - this way we can focus on the water rides and roller coasters the next day.
