black tie appropriate

I'm going to a Sunday evening black tie wedding in a little over a week and am having the hardest time finding a dress for it. I'm a size 14/16 so not everything looks good on me.

do you think this dress is fancy enough? i'd add some sparkly earrings and shoes to help dress it up

Re: black tie appropriate

Hmmm Is it black tie optional? I think the DRESS IS CUTE but if it is formal black tie IMO you should wear a gown.

No, its not optional, its black tie
I'm so torn because I love the dress and have really nice sparkly rhinestone shoes and earrings that could dress it up but because its not a 'gown' I don't know if its enough Chat Icon
So frustrating, I wish there was a list of appropriate attire that came with the invitation!

Re: black tie appropriate

I went to a wedding on Sunday night at Oheka Castle. I cannot believe what some people wore. So inappropriate for a wedding, much less a wedding at that venue.

Honestly, I think if you did your hair up, some extra fancy makeup, fancy clutch bag, shoes, earrings and accessories I think you'd be fine.

I find most people write black tie just to make sure people look appropriate. I could be wrong but I think that dress is really pretty and if you feel good in it then go for it.

If you added really fancy accessories, I think you'll be fine. That is a great dress!

I think it's perfect. Just glam up the hair, makeup, and accessories.
