what's the best way to stalk a fellow LIFer?
someone has done something extra nice and i'd like to thank that person. what would be the best method of stalking said person to make sure said person would truly like how i will thank him/her?

 I don't understand are you trying to send them a thank you gift, or are you trying to stalk them, as in spy on them without them knowing?

Do you know of anyone else on LIF that may be close to this person? If so, maybe you can FM them and ask them about what you had in mind to thank this person and see if they think he/she would like it.

I assume you mean finding out how to get them a thank you or finding out an interest in order to get them something? LOL. I guess facebook is the best method.

When in doubt, don't.
I'd much prefer someone just FM and say "thank you so much. I really want to do something nice for you and plan to do X. Is that something you'd like? How can I get that to you?" I'd rather they not stalk my LIF friends, look me up on FB, etc. I sure hope they won't be trying to get my address or contact info from others...
Just be direct. They'll still be appreciative.
