Got the insurance statement for my hospital stay today!
$11,500!!!  
I had a regular vaginal birth with no complications and stayed two nights.
The room was over $5,000 for 2 nights- and I paid on top of that out of pocket for the private room.
I cannot BELIEVE how expensive it is to have a baby.
Imagine what a C Section would cost?
And that doesn't even include all the money the doctor's charged insurance for all the prenatal visits etc!
Thank GOD for insurance!

Wow!! I just renewed my DH insurance today and told him we will be saving THOUSANDS of $$$$$$ than trying to act brave and not get the best insurance! Its soo worth every penny. Because the little that you do pay don't compare to how much the insurance pays.

I had a c-section and DS was in the NICU for two nights.
My bills between the hospital and my doctor totalled over $26,000.
DS's bill alone was over $13,000.

My induction/emergency c-section/hospital stay plus DS's nursery stay totaled about $35K.

I couldn't believe my bill either... i was shocked..thank god for insurance is right..I just have to pay 50 for copayment and 300 for deductible. That's nothing compared to 14,000 dollars!!! woahh
