Re: If someone gave you $1200 for new clothes

Honestly I'd throw out the bulk of my clothes and start from scratch!

I'd buy:

- Classic black, grey, brown and khaki work pants (probably from Express, the editors are my favorite fit)

- I don't wear skirts to work but I might invest in one or two suits.

- A short fall trench coat (and then I'd save about $200 for a good winter coat when they come out in stores)

- all new bras and underwear, properly fitted!

and then I'd spend one full day going to a bunch of stores in the mall to see which ones had the best tops that fit me the best - I'm so guilty of buying a piece here, and a piece there, that don't fit so well then I never want to wear them again!

That's what I was thinking! I'm a SAHM, so I won't get work clothes. Last Summer I was pregnant, so all of the Summer and Fall clothes are from '08, and everything seems to start feeling dated, KWIM?

When I am looking to spenda chunk of money, I go to Ann Taylor Loft and buy what the dummies in the windows are wearing, right down to the accessories!

I also tell a sales person that I have limited time to shop, and that I need "everything", what can they put together for me ??? I always end up with some great looks.

I am jealous Chat Icon I wish I didn't have to wear work clothes Chat Icon

I would buy a few classic staples - amazing jeans, 1 pair each black and khaki pants that you can wear to nicer places, would still get the trench.

I totally get what you are saying, most of my new clothes were from before I got pregnant with DS - two kids later and I am slowly replacing my old wardrobe.

Please post pics of what you buy, I'm excited to see! Chat Icon
