I have an open cubby on the bottom for books and decorative boxes. The drawer is for slippers, socks, pj's. DH's nightstand has an extra blanket folded in the bottom and the drawer has... "stuff" in it.

I have a beefy nightstand. I keep bras, undies, socks in the bottom two drawers and junk in the top along with my makeup, hair bands, lotion..etc..

top is junk
second drawer is competely empty
third drawer is socks - soon to be completely empty as well
I bought a lingerie chest so I'm transferring all undergarments and socks to that puppy.
I think I'll put bathing suits and cover-ups in the empty drawers.
