Visa for DR
I read on Tripadvisor that we need visa's to go to DR. It also said we could purchase them once we get there. What did you do?

Re: Visa for DR
I believe you need a passport before you can get on a plane here to go there. I'm not 100% sure, but I know that for most of the Caribbean islands you need a passport.

We have the passports, but I read you need to get a visa as well.

Re: Visa for DR
If you don't get a visa prior to going, you can buy a tourist card when you get there in the airport. The tourist card is basically a visa that allows you to stay for 60 days. It was around $10 USD per person, just make sure you have cash.

Yup---it's very quick.
I feel like everyone's experience was different -- some people said they held onto it the entire time. But for us, we paid for the tourist card in cash, they handed it to us, and then we walked to the next line before getting our luggage, and they took it right back.
