Disney stroller question

I know we just were there in April, but we were thinking of going over the Jewish Holidays in September.

This time we will be staying at Port Orleans. How easy is it to get on and off of the Disney buses with a carriage? Is there the ability to store them under the bus?

TIA!

Re: Disney stroller question

iIt isnt too bad. Just make sure you dont have a ton of stuff under it so it is easy to fold up. You close them and thew driver will store it for you. Chat Icon

Re: Disney stroller question

We plan to take our city mini. It's easy to fold and just sturdy enough. I think it is a perfect travel stroller.

Re: Disney stroller question

We just got back in May and we stayed at the Poly- and took the buses 3 times - once to HS, once to AK and one night home from EPCOT b.c the monorail was hit by lightening and they shut it down for the night.

Buses - you should think of them like NYC buses - they are NOT coach buses like the magical express ones. You get on and they have seating along the windows so you ride sideways in the front and behind the 2nd door they have a couple of rows of 2 and 2 on some. You will have to hold your stroller and your bags or personal items - and in many cases you will have to hold your children b.c you will be lucky to get a seat.

Most people were really really nice and gave me a seat to sit with my almost 1 year old (she turned 1 our last full day of our trip). But my DH had to stand and hold our double (city mini) and my DD#1 who was almost 3 (turned 3 in June).

If you pack okay (meaning not too many bags or loose items you should be okay - but I wouldn't bring anything too bulky - we did fine with the city mini double. But several people had the sit and stand and they looked like they were struggling when it was crowded. But we did have some issue the night we had to come home from EPCOT - we packed the stroller expecting that we would just roll onto the monorail - so we had a lot of loose items (cups, snacks etc) in the back pocket and underneath - it reminded me of trying to get onto an overcrowded standing room only subway or bus in NYC during rush hour...LOL.

I would definitely do the buses again - but it is important to pack right I learned to not put anything IN the stroller just in my diaper bag (that I hung off the handle bars so it was easy to remove at the last second - and to grab onto the girls. It is also easier if you don't try to fight to get on at the MOST crowded times (try to leave early in the morning so you aren't trying to stuff yourself onto the bus with the people who are rushing at the last minute to make rope drop (opening). You also don't want to run for the buses the minute the parades or fireworks end b.c everyone does a mass exit and it is completely crazy.

Re: Disney stroller question

Thanks everyone! We are traveling with two single strollers (for easier manuvering)

DH is pushing for no stroller at all...but I think that is pushing it! Literally! The kids will not even be 3 yet!
