Cost of moving from LI to NC
We are tyring to figure out a budget and see if this is a good move and I realized we have no clue how much it will cost. We have a full house of stuff and 2 kids, so there is alot to move.

When we were moving from LI to SC our estimates were about 3500 - 4000.

My parents just did this and I think their movers charged about $3,000. They got several estimates before moving. I would say with 2 kids moving, too (i.e., even more stuff), you're looking at more like $3500 - 4000.

And they did everything. We just have to pout the stuff in boxes, they handle the rest? SOrry I am so clueless about this.

many companies will pack for you, or just take the boxes.
your best bet is decide what you are taking and not taking, then have a few reputable companies come in and give you free estimates. Its really hard to judge based on others because it really depends on how much stuff you are taking

For my parents, they packed everything. The moving company just loaded and unloaded.
I will check with them on what they paid. I remember it being a very good deal. I can also find out who they used if you are interested.

I was just looking for a round about number, since I had no clue the cost. I know someone who spent 10,000 moving cross country so had no clue what was reasonable or normal.
Just trying to figure out a rough budget at this point.
