Can you girls help me with things to do this summer?
I have lived on Long Island all my life, but I seriously don't know 'places" to go to take walks, play on playgrounds, sprinkler parks etc.
I live in sachem school district and other than the holtsville ecology center, I am clueless.
DD is NOT going to be cool with sitting in the house, and our backyard isnt the greatest for playing.
I really am so sheltered LOL. I have no idea how things work as far as certain places being only for residents of certain towns etc.
So can you give me your favorite places (inexpensive or free) to go with DC?
Also...if I get an empire pass does that allow me to go to parks in other towns?
Hope I am making sense.

The empire pass is good for state beaches and parks (Jones Beach, the arboretum etc.). Then there are town stickers that you can get for your car which will get you into "your" town beaches.
ETA: I'm not familiar with your area.

I dont even know the beaches I could go to. LOL.
So if I go to a beach that is a "town" beach, do I just show my license?

I think you can either pay for the day or get a sticker. Usually it works out to get the sticker. My town sticker was $25. You can purchase it at the beach by showing your license and insurance card.
ETA: if you go to the town website you can see a list of the parks and beaches

Since you are in Sachem, have you registered her for any of the library classes ? I used to do it w/ Brandon and some of them are really cute ...Registration was June 7 & 11 but theres probably still some spaces left..She does need a library card though if she doesn't have one....

Centereach pool has a sprinkler area..
If you know someone who is a town of Smithtown resident, the one at Hoyt is really cute...
We have 2 really nice parks by me..One is diagnol from Kohls ( Raynor park) and the other is between me and Little Vincents Pizza behind the trailers...
Also the Wedge ( Setauket  , is really nice)
One of the beaches has a sprinkler park, yet the name is escaping me at the moment...

You can come swim by us
Cory beach is nice! And has a nice park on the beach. I take Bree there a lot.
There's a pool and sprinkler park right off of nichols road too.
