How to get rid of clover?
We have a bunch of it in our front lawn. How do we get rid of it? I hate those white flowers that seem to grow back 8 seconds after we mow the lawn.

My husband hates them too.. but when we asked the lawn guy he said it is a good thing to have - it will die in high heat and leave nitrogen for your soil. Lawns with lots of clover are generally lacking in nitrogen.
You can use an herbicide like Scott's Weed and Feed.. but I can't say how well it works since we don't really like chemicals on our lawn (we have small kids who dig a lot!).

we used a week killer......our lawn is in bad shape cause this is our first summer here and the house was empty for almost 2 years and the owners just did the bare minimum to keep it up.....so we have a lawn of weeds....not sure there is even grass in there.

My two neighbors and an old boss of mine are all lawn obsessed so I have heard a lot about clover...
Clover can be good for your lawn because it produces much needed nitrogen. There are chemical weed killers that will rid your yard of clover but unless you correct the nitrogen deficiency it will just keep coming back. The best way to get rid of it is to remove it at the roots when there are not huges patches, mow regularly at a height of 2" - 3" and introduce more niotrogen to the soil. Manure, Bloodmeal, fertilizers high in nitrogen are all good sources.

I used the vigaro weed feed and so far it has worked - I am sure they will come back though. I dont want to burn the lawn....and I havent been watering it because the sprinklers arent on yet....

I won't put anything on the back lawn becuase of the dogs and kids but I was thinking maybe to put something on the front, they don't play in the front lawn. I hate the white flowers all over. Are you supposed to take of this before the summer? I think maybe we can try and see if we can add more nitrogen and see if that helps.

Poor clover, so misunderstood. 
What does the rest of the lawn look like? If it's lush and thriving, I'd leave well enough alone and be happy you have a flower that will add valuable nitrogen back into your soil organically. I know you don't like it but you could have much worse problems. 
If the clover is in spots that are very hard and it's replacing grass, you may have a soil compaction problem. The answer there is not to get rid of the clover, it's to strengthen the soil with grass clippings, compost, and maybe some alfalfa pellets in fall and spring.
White clover used to be added to grass seeds (and may still be?) to provide a more well rounded lawn. The presence of clover doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong.

THere are huge patches of it, and no grass in those patches just clover. Some spots the lawn is fine, not great just fine though. Other spots suck and are filled with crab grass.

I'd concentrate on pulling the crabgrass first, making sure to get all the roots. Maybe you could even rent one of those sod-cutter machines and just get the whole layer up, start from scratch. At least for the worst areas. You would have to have a plan to put back good soil, compost, and grass seed though and this isn't the best time for it, since it's getting warmer.
