mls lists some as well as zillow but its not always right if its a long time ago. if its recent I find zillow to be ok

see if you can find the property appraiser for your county or the county clerks website for your county....that info is public knowledge so you should be able to find the owners name and amount they bought for...when i was house hunting and looking at short sales and forclosures i searched the address until i found the owner and then i was able to access records all the time - you can find mortgage docs, lis pendens, helocs, everything online, which is kind of scary actually ...

It usually comes up in PropertyShark.com although you have to register. They limit the number of searches that you can do for free though.
