I would wear nude with red, i don't like black shoes with red personally. I have worn leopard but that’s more ‘sexy’ so depends on the dress.
I own these & get a lot of comments on them... 
"snake" is really in right now, too, you could do the grey/black/white

Those are Aldo, but they don't always fit me right, the one size is too big and the next size down is too small. I have these from Steve Madden and I wear them all day and have no issues with them bothering my feet, they're a little darker than the Aldo ones:
