Sump Pump? How do you know where to put it?
How do you know where to put it. we are getting one to ensure that no water seeps through the foundation when we remodel. We had some seepage through the foundation when we had all of that rain in March. we also have a high water table in our area.

If you want to keep water out of the house completely, you need a weeping tile system (a tube buried in stone around the outside of the basement wall) that carries the rainwater to a pit (sump). You would put the pump in that sump (hence the name "sump pump"...  ).
