i think it's the hair itself...some people are blessed, others are not
think about skin.
there is foundation for skin, and it can improve it, but what matters most is the base of the skin underneath it all, KWIM?
that being said, i am not blessed.
i use conditioner every day, deep condition 1x a week, try to not use blowdryer on days i am off from work, etc.

Just talking the hair... the brush and the shampoo/conditioner.
Style... all of what you listed and the person doing the hair.
I have great hair. Very healthy. Style sucks though.
