Need to find a female OB - Altmann, Rothstein, Morris-Rush?

I've been trying to find an OB in the LI area for a while now. I am TTCing and would really like to find one soon... I am actually seeing an RE now and he recommended an OB a year ago that I didn't really care for.

Anyways... I've been researching thru the internet everywhere, from here to websites like ratemd, vitals and it's just overwhelming with reading so many positive reviews about one doc, and then suddenly seeing really really bad reviews.

I think I would like a doc affiliated with Winthrop or Northshore as it sounds like there are more positive reviews there.

I had a miscarriage a year ago, and havent had much luck since, so a good and understanding doc would be great too (even though I'm seeing an RE already).

I already called Hanauer's office and they said she is only taking new pregnancy patients, which I am not yet :(.

So I was thinking about Valeria Altmann (altho I think she delivers at LIJ), Randi Rothstein, or Jeanine Morris-Rush. I read so many great reviews for Morris-Rush here, but oddly saw really bad ones on vitals?

Any recommendation GREATLY appreciated! I need to make an annual check up soon as the RE wants that and I know appts can be a couple months wait sometimes!

Thanks.

I am a patient of Dr. Morris Rush. She is a great doctor. The only "bad" thing is that she NEVER runs on time. She is actually known to run late, but she never rushes with you. If you need her to sit there for an hour to answer questions, she will sit with you. To me she is worth the wait. That is how great she is!

Just curious what negative reviews you read about her??

I read this off vitals.com -

"She I agree is extremely judgmental and rude! Too opinionated. I used to like her but realized her true colors after a few visits. I personally don't want to hear how your baby doesn't sleep if you can't help me. She was a major disappointment."

"Dr Morris-Rush did a very poor job during my labor and delivery..So much so that i had to have 2 surgeries months after delivering. She made some poor professional choices during delivering my son and lucky for me god brought him to us healthy. She was even eating a lollipop during my labor...I was originally seeing her partners for many years and of course ended up having her delivery me."

"Office staff was rude, actually yelling at a parent of a minor.Impossible to get an appointment after they canceled the appointment."

I've read such GREAT reviews about her here too... so I was really shocked to read all this. But then when I think about it, how can anyone possibly eat a lollipop in the labor room?? They don't even let woman wear jewelery in there. So maybe it's someone that has something against her for some odd reason.

Are the other docs there pretty good too... as I know sometimes any doc can deliver if yours isnt available.

Thanks!!

I just recently met Dr. Morris-Rush as she is part of the practice I've been going to for years. I ADORED her. She is an experienced mom of 4, very attentive, funny, sweet, calming. There can be complications with any pregnancy and any doctor, but on first impression I thought she was fantastic (as are the rest of the doctors in the practice). Good luck!

I go to the practice where morris rush is...my friend is her patient and RAVES about her. My pregnant friend also has seen her and said she is really great.

I know I like the practice a lot, so I would recommend her.

I see Dr. Rothstein! LOVE LOVE LOVE her!!!

I went to this practice years ago until my insurance changed. I delivered my two DDs with another group of doctors in Nassau. Overall, I was really unhappy with their attitudes and general bedside manner, so when I wanted to TTC again, I switched back to North Shore OBGYN (because ins. had changed again). I suffered a miscarriage directly after I went back there and I can't tell you how attentive Dr. Rothstein was. SUPER diligent. Now, I'm 15 wks pregnant and I feel like she's a member of my family already! Definitely recommend!
