Floors - Special Walnut or English Chestnut

Hi,

I am gettting my floors redone and can't decide between these two colors.

Does anyone have some pictures I can see?

TIA,
Ali

Re: Floors - Special Walnut or English Chestnut

This was my exact dilemma a few months ago. I ended up going with English Chestnut because I was afraid the Special Walnut would show every scratch and piece of dust etc. I do love the English Chestnut, but sometimes I wish I went with the Special Walnut because I love really dark floors.

I don't think I have any pics, but will look tonight when I get home.

Just realized I had a pic on my phone! Here it is with the sunlight shining on it. I'd say this is the lightest it ever looks, and in low light conditions, it looks much darker.

Both the floor and the handrail are stained English Chestnut:

Ditto. I too decided on English Chestnut and not Special Walnut.

English Chestnut gets plenty dusty, so we're swiffering frequently anyway...

I wish I had gone with Special Walnut.

I like the look of the English Chestnut better. Our floors are much lighter (Golden Pecan). I want to have then done over darker. Here is a good color chart:
