WWYD- neighbor related
OK, so, long story, still kinda long...
loud neighbors with loud parties, loud guests, blow up big screen tv w/ boxing matches and comedy shows that can be heard from blocks away.
The law is 11pm, they are out until well after 1am about 3 of 4 weekends a month. If I'm waiting up for DH to come home and I'm up, I don't really care, but DH sometimes gets home at 2 and needs to be up at 6/7 to be at work for 8 am again.
We call the cops MANY times and they said all I can do is keep calling them. (call precinct, not 911) I told the cops to fine their arses and make some $. lol I often have to call like 3 times before they come/and or the ppl finally STFU.
It's not as bad if we have the window ACs on and they are drowned out, but on nights like tonight, I have to shut all my windows so I don't hear them. WHY should I be inconvenienced and not be able to enjoy fresh air on a nice night? It's after 11pm and there are laws for a reason, no?
WWYD? They obviously know neighbors are ****** b/c the cops were called so talking to them wont work. Yeah, they have the right to use their property, but not to hinder me from peacebly enjoying my prop.
Who else can I call or write to b/c the cops are really useless. I'm SO not looking forward to dealing with this sh!t all summer.

does your area have code enforecment or public safety? Thats who we call here for barking dogs and other disturbances. they are much faster and frankly they don't have as much to do as the police.
its such a nightmare that people in general have no regard for anyone else's comfort anymore.

I figure if you had the police called on you at least 20 times for the last 2 summers, you KNOW you are pissing someone off. I doubt they will stop. They will just invite us over. Umm, yeah no, I want you to STFU b/c I'm tired and want to sleep, not party with you. My dad talks to them ofer the fence and is friendly with them, but he would never say anything. We shouldnt have to. It's obvious that they are loud and pissing people off.
I don't think we have any code enforcement- it's not a development or anything.

I don't think we have any code enforcement- it's not a development or anything.
Code enforcement is based on the town so you might have one. We have one where I live. They're the ones that ticket you when your meter runs out 
I would hate to have to deal with them. Maybe just ask them if they can keep it down a bit? Sometimes asking will just work. They might be conitinuing it because they're ****** someone called the cops.

Idk, I think they are continuing b/c they want to have their party and dont give a crap lol. They turn the music down around 12 b/c they know and if someone goes and makes it louder someone will yell and tell them to put it back down.
I have to look into the code enforcement thing.

We have this problem as well, but have never called the police...
It has gone on for years, and getting progressively worse and their children grew into their late teens and 20's- you know, the kind of parents that party with their kids and friends 
Last year the parties were going on a few times a week- during the week lasting till well after midnight with bass pounding through our house
My dh never wanted to say anything, even though he was miserable as he is a very light sleeper...he didn't want any hard feelings with the neighbors.
But, I had enough. I saw the husband outside one day after a Wednesday night party that lasted till all hours. I just said, listen, everyone loves a good party, and we certainly are not party poopers, but our houses are pretty close here, and we have to get up for work early. I'm not sure if your speakers are turned towards our house or what, but we can hear and FEEL the music in our bedroom on the opposite side of the house, with a sound machine on...I'd just appreciate it if you can keep it down late at night...
He stuttered some excuse about it being an anniversary party- but I cut him off and said, if it were just one or even a dozen times I wouldn't have said anything, but this has been going on for years!
After that is was quiet for the rest of the summer...and fall and winter (they party all year)
So far they have had one or two parties and they haven't been that bad...but of course the season is just beginning :::fingers crossed:::
